SCHS volleyball camp June 8-9

Sandy Creek’s volleyball camp, open to girls entering fifth through eighth grade, will take place at Sandy Creek High School June 8 and 9. Fifth and sixth graders will meet from 9 a.m.-noon and seventh and eighth graders will meet from 1-4 p.m. The camp will cover the fundamentals of volleyball and the fee is $60. The camp is a fundraiser for the Sandy Creek volleyball program. Registration can be completed through the Fayette Community School, 770-460-3990 ext. 470

Sign up for Indoor Soccer

Score Indoor Sports will offer an adult indoor soccer winter league with divisions for men’s amateur, men’s over 30, men’s open, women’s rec, co-ed recreational and co-ed open. The 7vs7 or 6vs6 format is $750 per team with 15 players max per team, while 3x3 soccer league is $300 per team. The deadline to register is Nov. 21 and the league starts Dec. 1. The Youth Indoor Soccer Winter League with divisions for Select and Academy U9-U19, recreational U-12-U-19 for large field and U10 and under for small field is $750 per team for 7vs7 or 6vs6 and $600 per team for 5vs5 or 4vs4.

Tyrone Recreation offers martial arts classes

The Tyrone Recreation Department is offering Kuk Sool martial arts classes Wednesdays and Saturdays for ages 6-16. The fee is $100 a month. Call 404-409-3755 for more information.

Karate championships, Dec. 5 and 6

World Champion Tony Young will host the 2008 Year End National Karate Championships on Dec. 5 and 6 at Score Indoor Sports in Fairburn. The action starts at 7 p.m. on Friday and continues at 9 am. on Saturday. There will be over 100 divisions for beginners through advanced for men, women and children and all styles are welcome. Wendell Coffee Junior Golf Camp

The Wendell Coffee Golf Center will offer junior golf camps over Thanksgiving (Nov. 24-25), Christmas (Dec. 22-23, Dec. 29 and 30), Winter (Feb. 16-19) and Spring Break (April 6-9). The camps are designed to teach children the basics of golf and how much fun the sport can be. Each camper will learn the set up, the swing, the pitch and chip shots, sand shots, the putting stroke and how to hit the woods. Each camper will also receive different instruction according to his or her level of play.

Great Pumpkin Race II, Oct. 11

Flat Rock Middle School and Sandy Creek High School have joined forces once again to host a 5K and 1-Mile fun run/walk on Saturday, Oct. 11.
