The Starr’s Mill Panthers boys tennis team have played in 2 tournaments so far this season, and won them both.
Starr’s Mill’s boys and girls tennis teams topped McIntosh on last Thursday night.
The boys won 5-1. Winners for Starr’s Mill were Frank Rogers (6-1,6-2), Alex Borovsky (6-0,6-0), Blake Traeger/Jack Lloyd (7-6, 6-4), Sebastien Schneider/Evan Thorsen (4-6, 6-2, (10-6)) and John Traeger/Paul Balmes (8-3). McIntosh’s Austin Emmet won his match (6-4, 6-3).

Prior to the start of the region 2-AAAAA tennis tournament this week, East Coweta met Callaway. The Lady Indians lost 3-2 with Taylor Heinz winning 5-2 (Callaway player injured) and Allie Shell winning her match as well (6-1, 6-0). Atera Williams won an exhibition match 6-3.
Starr’s Mill’s boys tennis team (10-1) beat St. Pius X 3-1 last Thursday and defeated Fayette County 5-0 on Tuesday.
The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is conducting a month-long drive, March Into Tennis, to get more kids playing the sport. Throughout the month, a record 1,200 USTA youth tennis events will take place across the country.
A variety of organizers including clubs, after-school programs, parks and recreation, community tennis associations and others will host youth registration events, Play Days and launching Kids’ Tennis Clubs as part of the USTA’s youth tennis efforts.
McIntosh and Starr’s Mill’s boys tennis teams are in the Class AAAA semifinals at Clayton County International Park this Friday.
The Lady Bobcats Tennis Team continued their post-season run on Tuesday by defeating George Walton Academy 3 to 2 in the first round of the Class A state tournament. The girls made school history by becoming the first Mercy tennis team to reach the "Sweet Sixteen" in the state tournament.

The Starr’s Mill varsity boys tennis team captured the AAAA state title on Saturday and, like any good champion, they had to deal with some adversity on the way.
