Fayette County Special Olympics bowlers on a roll at state competition in August
Fayette County Special Olympics sent 34 athletes to the State Masters Bowling Tournament in Warner Robins Aug. 20-22.
Local Special Olympian heading to National Games
Lani DeMello, 23, of Peachtree City has performed rhythmic gymnastic routines all over the world including Greece, Germany, Slovakia and Puerto Rico, just to name a few. Next week, she will compete in the Special Olympics 2010 USA National Games in Nebraska.
Local skier returns from Boise with bronze medals
Skiing is not an easy sport to get into when you live in Georgia. First of all, the weather is not very conducive. The winters here are notoriously short and filled with mild temperatures that melt any flaky precipitation before it can collect for too long. Then, of course, there aren’t a lot of mountains with ski trails to practice on either.
