A local teacher has taken a wellness plan he teaches to his students and turned it into a book to help persons outside of his classroom achieve their personal fitness and well-being goals.

Hot Cheetos win kickball title, second season starts Jan. 10

The Hot Cheetos were the champions of the inaugural adult, co-ed kickball season at “The Chuck” in Peachtree City. They defeated KOBK 6-3 in the final to earn the title.

Nearly 2,000 pounds lost in eight week competition at World Gym

The World Gym location on Commerce Dr. in Peachtree City hosted a closing ceremony for the end of their second “I Lost It At The Club” competition. There were 193 area residents spread out over 25 teams at the three locations and they lost a combined total of 1,988 pounds over eight weeks.

Local World Gym locations launch second round of ‘I Lost It At The Club’

spor_lost it at gym.JPGLast week, close to 200 area residents made their way to a local World Gym location to participate in the second “I Lost It At The Club” program. The eight week program makes teams of the 25 classes offered and each team, led by a professional trainer, tries to finish the program with the highest weight loss percentage. The first program was offered in the spring and the results were incredibly positive.

Saturday is National Gymnastics Day

The mayor of Fayetteville has proclaimed Sept. 12 to be National Gymnastics Day in Fayetteville and Gym South Gymnastics and Cheerleading is inviting the community to participate in their annual “Fall Fest” to celebrate the event. “Fall Fest” is a day of gymnastics and tumbling demonstrations, obstacle courses, free evaluations, games, raffles and a cartwheel-a-thon. The event lasts from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Snap Fitness to offer group fitness, childcare

Athletes benefit from local specialized training

There’s no doubt about it, Fayette County boasts some of the strongest sports teams in the state. From the sidelines at local football games to the corners of every volleyball court, Fayette athletes are rising to the challenge and bringing the titles and championships home to Fayette County. As a result of their hard work, and the dedication of the individual athletes, their parents and coaching staffs, many of these teams send athletes on to play at the collegiate level. Beyond that, there are also quite a few local grads who have made their way all the way to the pros.

Boot camp offered for teachers

Fit4ANewLife Ladies Fitness Studio is gearing up for the County’s Teachers Bootcamp. This is the studio’s second year hosting this life changing boot camp. The boot camp is designed to help teachers and employees of the county’s school system improve their overall health and fitness levels.
