The Whitewater Wildcats exceeded expectations again providing a number of upsets and placing fifth as a team at the Georgia AAAA State Tournament at the Gwinnett Arena last weekend. The team finished with two 2nd place finishes and a 4th place finisher.

The Whitewater Wildcats will be well represented next week at the state tournament with 9 of 14 weight classes represented after the East Sectional at Loganville High School.

The Wildcats continued to work the mats this weekend winning the 3-AAAA team competition and placing 12 wrestlers at the 3AAAA Area tournament at Fayette County High School.

The Whitewater Wildcats took 3rd place in the State Duals Championships in Macon, Ga. last weekend. The #4 seeded Wildcats were perfect on Friday winning 59-15 over Northside Warner-Robins and then winning the quarter finals match against Cass in a nail biter, 28-26.

The Whitewater Wildcats varsity wrestling team won the Area 3-AAAA area duals last weekend.

Whitewater’s varsity wrestling team competed in the 32nd annual Jacket Invitational and placed first overall.

The Whitewater Wildcats varsity wrestling team placed second in the Mountain View Duals on Saturday, winning their first four matches before falling to Greater Atlanta Christian in the final, 42-24.

Whitewater’s varsity wrestling team took eighth in Class AAAA in the AAAA state wrestling tournament. They had one wrestler take third place and two take fourth place.

The state wrestling championships will take place this week and a number of local wrestlers have qualified.

Whitewater hosted the Southside Brawl this weekend and took third, finishing behind Henry County in first and Bremen in second.
