The girls region teams in Region 3-AAAA were divided by the sub-regions.

The all-region team for Boys region 3-AAAA was announced.

Ekene Anachebe of Fayette County is currently tied for Player of the Year with Alcovy’s DeVon Edwards.

The regular season is over and while teams like Fayette County’s varsity boys, ranked number one in Class AAAA in the latest PrepCounty.com Coaches Poll, raced to a 23-1 overall record, everybody is basically 0-0 when the region basketball tournament starts.

The Wildcats continued to work the mats this weekend winning the 3-AAAA team competition and placing 12 wrestlers at the 3AAAA Area tournament at Fayette County High School.

The Starr’s Mill boys and girls swim teams each won their half of the county swimming championship and combined for the overall title.

The Whitewater Wildcats took 3rd place in the State Duals Championships in Macon, Ga. last weekend. The #4 seeded Wildcats were perfect on Friday winning 59-15 over Northside Warner-Robins and then winning the quarter finals match against Cass in a nail biter, 28-26.

The region basketball tournaments are not that far away and every sub-region and region win can help a team’s seeding. For some teams, like Fayette County's Lady Tiger, each game could have a big impact on defending their AAAA state title.

The Whitewater Wildcats varsity wrestling team won the Area 3-AAAA area duals last weekend.
