Patriots shutout Panthers, War Eagles now 6-0

Sandy Creek took on Starr’s Mill on Monday afternoon and won 6-0. It was the second straight game that the Panthers had been held to no runs.

Mudcats win Lovejoy tournament

P1060020.JPGThe 8U boys from Peachtree City (8-0) captured their second tourney in as many tries outlasting the Macon Ruffnecks in the Lovejoy N.I.T. Championship 18-10. Calin Smith led the attack for the weekend as he went 10 for 13 with four home runs, a triple and two doubles.  Not to be outdone, Hunter Lawson and Burton Hahn added eight hits and two home runs a piece. Comeback Kid - Former McIntosh pitcher bounces back to baseball after battling brain tumor

IMG_0033.jpgLast year, Jarrod Parker, a Peachtree City resident and graduate of McIntosh High School, noticed a lump on the back of his head. It was his freshman year of college and when he shaved his head he could tell it looked a little strange. He went to the doctor, had x-rays and a CAT scan done, but it was still inconclusive what the lump was. An MRI told him it was a tumor.

Golf camp next week
The Wendell Coffee Golf Center in Tyrone will host a junior golf camp Nov. 23 and 24 from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m for ages 6-15. The fee is $100 and campers will work on their swing, short game and putting, have lunch and play nine holes each day. Phone 770-969-4469
