Whitewater Sharks continue to grow in third season

spor_whitewater sharks.JPGThe Whitewater Creek Sharks swim team has finished their third season. They are still considered the newest and smallest in the Peachtree City Summer Swim League.  With a new coach this season the Sharks were honored to have Coach Cassandra Heimann and Kevin Coventon who both brought the team to new levels. Their first year, the Sharks were comprised of 20, the second  year 35, while this year 52 children all swimming for Whitewater Creek.

Record breaker

meet2.jpgColton Olvey, swimming for the Timberlake Torpedoes, broke the Peachtree City meet record in the 6U 25 yard backstroke and also took first in the 6U 100 IM and the the 6U 25 yard freestyle. Olvey was undefeated in the league and swam every event at least once this summer. Photo/Special.

Whitewater swim team places fifth in Wildcat Big Splash Invitational

Whitewater’s swim teams hosted the “Wildcat” Big Splash Invitational and competed against 17 other high schools. The boys placed third and the girls placed 10th, giving Whitewater a fifth place finish overall.

Woodcreek girls set swim records

The WoodCreek Waves swim team coached by head coach Myra Garcia, Lauren Beatty, Christina Martin, and Melissa Ciccone had two competitors that stood out on top: Natalie Garcia, 9&10 age group and Erin Egoroff, 11&12 age group.

Local swimmers in 'the zone'

Three members of the Southern Crescent Swim Team (SCAT) were chosen along with other top swimmers from the state of Georgia to represent our state in the 2009 Southern Zone Swimming Competition held in Orlando, Florida from Tuesday, July 28-Saturday, Aug. 1.
