Line Creek Civitan golf tournament seeks players, sponsors
The 6th annual Civitan “Leave No One Behind” golf tournament, will take place Apr. 13 at 9 a.m. at Braelinn Golf Club. The tournament is seeking golfers, sponsors and donated items for goodie bags. The entry fee is $100 per player - four person teams. Registration includes 18 holes of golf, cart, range balls, refreshments and post tournament lunch. There will be a chance to win $5,000 in the Hole in One international contest and auxiliary prizes on hole in ones on other par 3 holes.

Smith and Ibiam recognized by Atlanta Tipoff Club
Fayette County’s Adam Smith, a senior shooting guard, and Elem Ibiam, a senior power forward for the Lady Tigers, were both named to the Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Early Season All-Metro teams.
Caveman Wrestling Camp at Northgate
Northgate High School wrestling will be holding its 16th annual Caveman wrestling camp June 22 - 25 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Northgate High School, Newnan. Clinicians attending will be Brandon Veasey - 3 times state placer, two time state finalist, founder of Georgia National Wrestling Alliance; Coach Adrian Anderson, over 300 dual meet wins, coached multiple State Champions and placers; visiting clinician Clark Rich. Special emphasis on linking takedowns, bottom and top positions into fluid system of movement in all situations.
Panther Basketball Camp, June 22-25
Starr’s Mill’s Panther Basketball Camp will take place June 22-25 at the Starr’s Mill gym. The fee is $75 and guest speaker Drew Barry will offer a one hour shooting instruction session. The deadline to register is June 12. Walk-up registration on June 22 will be $85. Applications can be downloaded at www.starrsmillhighschool.com
Starr’s Mill football camp, June 8-11
The 11th annual Starr’s Mill Panther Football Camp, June 8-11, is open to students in grades 2-8. The camp will focus on the basic fundamentals of the game. The camp will be under the direction of Starr’s Mill Head Coach Mike Earwood and the entire Starr’s Mill Staff, which collectively have well over a century of coaching experience. Former Panthers and current collegiate players Robbie Davis (Wofford) and Chad Gloer (UGA) will serve as guest instructors.
FCHS/WHS Summer All-Star Basketball Camp
Session I: June 15-18 @ Whitewater ~ Session II: July 13-16 @ Fayette County. Camp is Monday through Thursday 8 a.m.-4 p.m., open to boys and girls rising 2nd-8th grade. Cost: $150 per camper. Campers must bring a lunch. Camp is lead by Coach Andre’ Flynn of FCHS & Coach Brent Jackson of WHS plus current and former players. To register call: 770-716-7844.
SCHS volleyball camp June 8-9
Sandy Creek’s volleyball camp, open to girls entering fifth through eighth grade, will take place at Sandy Creek High School June 8 and 9. Fifth and sixth graders will meet from 9 a.m.-noon and seventh and eighth graders will meet from 1-4 p.m. The camp will cover the fundamentals of volleyball and the fee is $60. The camp is a fundraiser for the Sandy Creek volleyball program. Registration can be completed through the Fayette Community School, 770-460-3990 ext. 470
Soccer camp at Score Indoor Sports
Score Indoor Sports will be holding a soccer camp at it's climate controlled facility in Fairburn during the school Winter break, Feb 16 - 20. The camp will be staffed by accomplished players and licensed coaches, and involve soccer warm ups, exercises and drills, and will include mini soccer games and scrimmages. The half day camp runs from 8:30 am to noon, and the full day camp ends at 5:30 pm. For the five day program, the half day fee is $100 and the full day is $150. Lightning to host soccer clinic, Jan. 13
AFC Lightning Soccer Club would like to invite all academy age boys and girls, 8 to 12 years of age, to attend a soccer clinic in anticipation for our upcoming spring soccer season, which starts in early February 2009. Kids and parents will get to meet professional coaches and trainers. Parents will receive information about training, philosophy and club information. The staff will be on hand to evaluate children interested in becoming soccer players or players who are interested in improving their skill level.
