Local softball team 'Power's way to Orlando
The USSSA Road to Orlando tournament was held at the South Commons Olympic Softball Complex in Columbus, Georgia, on May 22. The 12U Blue Georgia Academy Power team won the tournament championship, scoring 61 runs and giving up only three runs against other 12U teams from Georgia and Alabama.

The first girls Little League Softball team from Fayette County won three straight and heads to Clayton, Ga. this weekend to take on Georgia and North Carolina teams in a Little League Softball shoot out.

Holcombe name to Team USA softball roster
Former Alabama All-American catcher Ashley Holcombe of Fayetteville, was named to the 2010 Team USA softball roster as announced by the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America. Holcombe, a graduate of Fayette County High School, was one of 17 athletes that were offered a USA Softball Athlete Agreement for the 2010 season.
Meet the 2009 Little League World Series Softball Champions, Jan. 9
The 2009 Little League World Series Softball Champions from Warner Robins, Ga, will be introduced and congratulated during the Little League State Leadership Conference, Saturday, Jan. 9, at Glendalough Manor in Tyrone. The team will be available from 12:30 – 2 p.m. The public is invited to share in the congratulations of the team.
PTC Ponies win season ending softball tournament
The Peachtree City 6U Ponies defeated the Tyrone Chili Peppers with a last inning unassisted triple play. Lauren Flanders, pitcher for the Ponies caught a fly ball in the infield and preceded to tag second base and the first base runner for all three outs. The entire team hit hard and played strong defense. The Ponies won the season ending tournament by a score of 16 - 11 and finished second for the fall 2009 season.
