Sign ups open for Fayette County soccer

The Fayette County Youth Soccer League will be holding registration for boys and girls Fall outdoor recreational soccer on Saturday, Aug. 7 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 14 from 10 a.m.-until 4 p.m., at the McCurry Park North Soccer Complex, on the corner of Hwy 54 and McDonough Road.

AFC Lightning teams win three soccer state championships

Region 5-AAAA boys team announced

The 2010 Boys All Region Team for 5-AAAA was announced this afternoon and the local teams were well represented.

The 2010 Girls All – Region Soccer Team for 5-AAAA was announced this afternoon and local girls are all over the team.

Mill, Baby, Mill: Lady Panthers bring home state soccer title too

DSC_0163.JPGFresh from watching the Starr’s Mill boys upset victory over top ranked McIntosh last night, the Starr’s Mill Lady Panthers told head coach Deanise Myers they wanted to bring home a title too.

Mission accomplished.

Girls soccer final tonight, 6:30 p.m.

I believe the first time I saw for this was 6 p.m., but upon checking it one more time saw it was set for 6:30 p.m.

Still, you'll want to get there early. Bring sunscreen.

If it's anything like the boys final, you're in for a doozy.

New number one - Starr's Mill wins state soccer title

The Starr’s Mill boys captured their first state title since 2000 with a 4-2 win in penalty kicks on McIntosh’s home turf, after 80 minutes of scoreless play in regulation and two five minute overtimes that left the teams knotted at 0-0.
