McIntosh High School has won the Georgia TBF High School State Bass Championship at Lake Lanier June 11.

Justin Farmer first picked up a bow and arrow to go hunting with his father. Competition was the furthest thing from his mind as he would walk through the woods and wait for the moment when a deer would cross his path.

This year’s edition of the state’s largest multi-sport event will take place on various weekends this summer with 48 sports offered for competitors across Georgia.

Thanksgiving weekend each year, the southeast’s best competitive shooting athletes descend on the Regional Junior Olympic Training Facility in Griffin, Ga. for the annual Ole Mill Invitational air rifle, air pistol and small bore shooting competition.

The Boy Scouts of America’s Flint River Council held their first annual Webelos Top Gun Competition on Saturday, Aug. 28 at the Ole Mill Range Complex in Griffin, Ga.

The Fayette County 4-H Air Rifle Club has just concluded it’s first season and in many ways has exceeded the expectations of it’s leaders and many others in the shooting sports community.

Roy McClain and Lisa Kelley are known very well by many in the Spalding County area and beyond for their dedication to youth shooting sports through various youth organizations and especially the local 4-H program.

Fayette County Shooting Sports has announced the date of the first parents orientation and open registration which will be held on Aug. 8 at Autrey’s Armory in Fayetteville at 10 a.m. Parents interested in learning more about the programs that will be offered for youths age 9 to 15 are encouraged to attend this informative session.
