Bobcats trap four medals at Riverwood tournament

spor_olm wrestlers at riverwood.jpegOur Lady of Mercy Bobcat wrestlers participated in the varsity and junior varsity tournament at Riverwood High School recently.

In the second tournament in a row senior Clint Ford (4-1) scored another medal, this time second place in the 125 lbs weight class.  Also joining Ford on the podium was senior Rich McPhee (3-2). McPhee scored a fourth place medal for the Bobcats,  wrestling at 189 lbs.

Landmark Christian School’s Blake Wyatt and Our Lady of Mercy’s William Pearl both were awarded the Coaches Choice Awards for Region 5-A football.

Sandy Creek wrestler at Starr's Mill.JPGStarr’s Mill hosted a 23 team tournament over the weekend and the local teams were well represented by their wrestlers.

Sandy Creek and McIntosh placed in the top 10 with the Patriots taking sixth and the Chiefs placing 10th. Starr’s Mill placed 15th and Our Lady of Mercy placed 21st.

The Our Lady of Mercy boys cross country team won their third consecutive state title in Class A on Saturday. Their top three runners all placed in the top 10 and their top five were all in the top 15.
