Chiefs and Patriots improve to 3-1, Landmark wins and Whitewater and Starr's Mill lose

Landmark Christian traveled to take on their local rivals, the Our Lady of Mercy Bobcats, on Friday. The Bobcats have never defeated the War Eagles in football, but the schools do play competitively in nearly every other sport.

Six local teams ranked in top 10 of their classifications in cross country

Our Lady of Mercy’s girls are ranked first in Class A In the ga.milesplit.us Georgia High School cross country rankings for week three, while Landmark Christian’s girls are ranked third. In Class AAAA, Whitewater’s girls are ranked fourth.

On the boys side, McIntosh is fifth in Class AAAA, one position ahead of Whitewater. Our Lady of Mercy’s boys are ranked ninth in Class A.

Ranked volleyball teams seek wins to cement rankings

Sandy Creek takes second in Fayette Sweet 16 volleyball tournament

Sandy Creek finished in second place in the first Fayette sweet 16 volleyball tournament losing to Northview in the final 20-25 and 20-25.

Local teams run at Berry Invitational

Whitewater’s girls placed 14th in the Class AAAA/AAAAA division at The Berry Invitational.

spor_Olm cheerleaders at camp.jpegThe Our Lady of Mercy High School varsity cheerleaders recently returned from cheerleading camp. The camp was held at Emory University and was administered by the Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA).  The team received first place for their home dance routine that the team prepared prior to the camp. The team received second place in the cheer division of the camp championships and the spirit stick.
