Four Chiefs named to All State lacrosse team
The Georgia High School Lacrosse Coaches selected the following players to the All State team at their annual meeting. This year only 66 players were selected for honors versus 109 that were selected in 2009.
• Senior Jack Bornhofen was name to the first team and was an All American selection. He recorded 56 goals and 22 assists this season.
• Will Char and Jake Polo were named to the second team. Polo, a senior middie, recorded 14 goals and 27 assists. He also had 66 ground balls this season and won 94 of 161 face offs. Char, a junior, is a long stick middie. he played 13 games this season and was out five games due to a concussion. He had 32 ground balls and had 13 takeaways. Coach Thomas Hill stated that Char is a huge catalyst for the team. The Chiefs averaged 11.8 goals a game when he played with a 9-2 record compared to 7.4 when he was out with a 3-2 record.
• Junior Alex Scheumann, a defender, had 59 ground balls and 33 takeaways and was named to the All State Honorable Mention.
