Local tennis teams shooting for spot in state semifinals

Starr’s Mill’s girls are still alive in the Class AAAA tennis playoffs. The Lady Panthers are in the state quarterfinals against Heritage, Conyers after beating Loganville (4-0) and Cass (4-1). A win over Heritage puts Starr’s Mill, once again, into the Class AAAA final four. They would meet the winner of Bainbridge and Lakeside, Evans with a win. The Class AAAA semifinals and finals will take place Saturday at Clayton County International Park.

On the boys side, McIntosh and Starr’s Mill are both still active. The Chiefs are taking on Heritage, Conyers for a shot at the semifinals, while Starr’s Mill is facing Hillgrove. If the Chiefs win, they will take on the winner of Ola and Harris County on Saturday, while Starr’s Mill could face the winner of Lakeside, Evans and Glynn Academy with a win.
