It's over - I lost it at the club, again

It’s over.

Eight weeks passed very quickly and I have to admit, I feel like a new man.

It’s no secret that I am a believer in the “I Lost It At The Club” program - I lost weight auditing a number of classes the last time it was held - but being “embedded” with a team and fully engaging in the program made a much more significant impact on my fitness and life. I am truly grateful for the opportunity, the guidance from my trainer, Sheila, and the encouragement and acceptance from my team - Weigh Waaayyy Less.

We weren’t the top team from the Fayetteville location - at least, not unless we have a crazy last minute weigh in before the scales close this weekend - and I doubt I’m the top “loser” on my team, but I know those results don’t matter. What truly matters is the change that has occurred for me both physically and mentally.

I hope that all of the participants in this go round feel the same way.

The final weigh-in and measurements were taken on Monday, but we have some leeway and can re-measure if we’d like by Saturday. I will weigh in once more just because I didn’t lose anything over the last week. I kind of feel like Garfield because I don’t think I’m a Monday person.

I did make some big strides over the course of two months though. I lost close to nine pounds, 1.2 % of Body Fat percentage, my bicep size increased by half an inch, my chest decreased by one, my waist and hips decreased by 1 1/2” and my thighs grew by 2 inches. I can tell my legs are stronger as well as just completely tired.

Everyone on the team lost weight and I saw each and every team member working hard both in and out of class. There was no denying our dedication to our goals or the rest of the team. I appreciate how cool they were with a reporter joining the team and covering the class like a story.

We will meet again next Wednesday when the program has its official closing ceremony. We won’t be the ones walking off with the big trophy, but when we hoist a drink at the end we can toast our hard work and new beginnings.
