Whitewater and Northgate make baseball playoffs, Panthers and Chiefs still have a shot

Two teams from region 5-A AAAA have punched their tickets to the Class AAAA playoffs.

spor_whitewater baseball runner.JPGWhitewater’s varsity baseball team has made the state playoffs. They defeated Mays 11-1 in six innings in the first game and 12-3 in the second game.

Northgate is also moving on. The Vikings, defending Class AAAA champs, beat Villa Rica 10-1 in game one and 11-4 in game two.

It is still undecided if Starr’s Mill will qualify. The Panthers split their doubleheader with Alexander, winning the first game 8-3 and losing the second 13-0. The deciding game is this afternoon.

McIntosh also still has a chance to make the Class AAAA playoffs. The Chiefs won the first game against Lithia Springs 6-3 and lost the second 4-2. The deciding game is today at Lithia Springs at 6 p.m.
