Lady Panthers win thrid straight region tennis title

Last Tuesday, the Starrs’ Mill varsity girls tennis team brought home the region trophy for the third time in a row under the direction of Coach Ron Mann, edging out arch-rivals McIntosh in the finals.

The Lady Panthers easily took down Lithia Springs in round one and Whitewater in round two winning all positions.

The finals against McIntosh came down to the last doubles match with Starr’s Mill edging out McIntosh with the 3-2 win.

Singles winners for the Lady Panthers were Kourtney Kowal (6-0, 6-1) and Erin Maguire (6-1, 6-2), while the doubles team of Carly Thamer and Emily Shull won 6-0, 6-0 to secure the victory.
