Starr's Mill boys and girls top McIntosh on tennis courts

Starr’s Mill and McIntosh’s varsity tennis teams faced off on Tuesday and the teams from Starr’s Mill won against their rivals, 3-2.

On the boys side, senior Alex Ford (6-3, 6-1) and freshman Jimmy Lange (6-1,6-1) won their singles matches, while McIntosh’s Jake Koonce won his match against Jonathon Lee (6-1, 6-4). The Starr’s Mill doubles team of John Flowers and Blake Traeger won their match 6-3, 7-5, while McIntosh’s Femi Brinson and Stewart Weisheit won their doubles match.

On the girls side, Kourtney Kowal and Erin Maguire won singles matches for the Lady Panthers, while D’Asha Davis won her singles match for McIntosh. The doubles teams from the schools split with Starr’s Mill’s Emily Shull and Carly Thamer and McIntosh’s Rachel White and Catherine Chapman winning their matches.
