FCHS' Newberry signs with Montreat

FCHS Tiger Softball player Candace Newberry signed a Letter of Intent to attend Montreat College in Montreat, NC. Candace has been a four year member of the FCHS Softball program playing pitcher and 3rd base. Candace was named the FCHS MVP for the past two seasons (2008 and 2009). As a pitcher she led the Tigers in wins each of her four seasons. Candace also played travel ball with the PTC Elite, GA Impact, and Atlanta Vipers programs. When asked about Candace FCHS Coach Jill Joiner stated, "She has been a tremendous leader on our teams and has helped carry some very young FCHS teams, especially in the past two seasons when many of her teammates were freshmen."
