McIntosh’s Beall and Berg earn state swimming titles
McIntosh had a strong showing at the Class A-AAAA state swimming championships with two swimmers, Jack Beall and Ariana Berg, pulling in individual titles.
Starr’s Mill, Our Lady of Mercy and Whitewater also had swimmers with top 10 finishes. They were:
• Girls 200 yard medley relay - McIntosh, 5th, Missy Beall, Ariana Berg, Erika Barrett, Anna Beard
• Boys 200 yard freestyle - Alex Menke, Whitewater, 3rd, 1:44.75
• Girls 200 yard IM - Berg, McIntosh, 2nd, 2:09.23
• Boys 100 yard butterfly - Jack Beall, McIntosh, 1st, 50.42; James Talley, Our Lady of Mercy, 3rd, 51.79
• Boys 500 yard freestyle - Menke, Whitewater, 2nd, 4:37.98
• Boys 200 yard freestyle relay - Starr’s Mill, 9th, Robert Maguire, Mark Buck, James Haycraft, David Wright, 1:31.69
• Boys 100 yard backstroke, Beall, McIntosh, 1st, 51.90; Talley, Our Lady of Mercy, 5th, 52.93
• Girls 100 yard backstroke - Beall, McIntosh, 4th, 59.57
• Girls 100 yard breaststroke - Berg, McIntosh, 1st, 1:04.00; Kristen Bates, Starr’s Mill, 6th, 1:07.97; Kristen Bohrer, Whitewater, 8th, 1:09.17
• Girls 400 yard freestyle relay - McIntosh, 10th, Beall, Barret, Beard, Berg
McIntosh’s girls placed eighth, while Starr’s Mill placed 27th and Whitewater took 31st. On the boys side, McIntosh placed 14th, Our Lady of Mercy placed 23rd and Starr’s Mill took 25th.
