Sandy Creek grad Putnam one of three Duke players arrested

Brandon Putnam, a Sandy Creek graduate and a freshman football player at Duke University, was arrested Sunday with two other Duke players after police said someone was firing a gun into the air.

The players have been dismissed from the program and have been barred from campus until the charges are resolved.

Putnam did not see any playing time in the 2009 season with the Blue Devils.
