By Michael Boylan - Posted on 13 January 2010

McIntosh’s Lady Chiefs put it on Villa Rica on Tuesday, winning 55-14 and invoking the mercy rule in the fourth quarter.

Laura Higgason was the leading scorer with 20 points, while Gabby Seiler added 17 points and Shelbi Sims chipped in 10 points and six rebounds.

The boys, in a game that went back and forth the entire way, won 66-65 in overtime. Josh Ball led the boys with 26 points, 12 of which came from his 4-of-6 shooting from behind the three point line. Juniors Chris Longoria and Jay Manning chipped in 13 and 12 points respectively and senior Preston Hodges sank the game winning free throw with 0.8 left on the clock.

McIntosh will play at Sandy Creek on Friday and will host Douglas County on Saturday.
