Sandy Creek teams split with Whitewater on the court

Sandy Creek’s boys defeated Whitewater 63-40 on Thursday night.

The Patriots got off to a fast start, but Whitewater closed the gap to seven points at the half. In the third quarter, Sandy Creek stretched their lead to 21 points and kept the pedal to the metal. Asa Carruthers led the Patriots with 17 points, while Emerson Williams added 14 points and five rebounds. Dominique Lindsey had eight points and four rebounds. Chris Morgan had four rebounds and four steals. Leading the way for Whitewater was Jamally Prosper with 12 points.
The Lady Patriots lost to Whitewater 42-37. The Lady Wildcats, winners of four in a row, will host Our Lady of Mercy on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Sandy Creek will take on Columbus today with varsity games starting at 4:30 p.m.
McIntosh and Starr’s Mill met last night after the paper went to press. McIntosh will play at Northgate on Tuesday, while Starr’s Mill will host Houston County today (varsity game start at 3 p.m.) and will play at Columbus on Tuesday.
Landmark Christian plays at Yeshiva tonight at 7:30 p.m. and plays at Galloway on Monday at 6 p.m.
