Three FCHS student athletes sign athletic scholarships with universities

Three Fayette County High School Tigers signed their National Letters of Intent recently to continue their education and athletic careers at the next level.

all 3 11 11 09 #2.JPGLady Tiger Basketball players Anma Onyeuku and Sasha Sims signed with Hofstra and Stetson Universities while Tiger Baseball player Niko Goodrum signed with Kennesaw State University.
 
Onyeuku has been a four year player for the Lady Tigers and has been a starter since her sophomore season.  Last season she led the Lady Tigers in points (16.8 ppg)and rebounds (7.9 rpg) while also averaging 1.7 steals per game and .4 blocked shots per game.  Onyeuku has been named the Lady Tigers most outstanding offensive player for the past two seasons.  While at Hofstra Onyeuku's head basketball coach will be Krista Kilburn-Stevekey, a member of the FCHS Hall of Fame in Women's Basketball and one of only two basketball players whose jerseys hang in the Fayette County High School Gym.  
 
Sims has been a four year player for the Lady Tigers and has been a starter since her sophomore season.  Last season Sims led the Lady Tigers in Blocked Shots (1.8 pg), was second on the team in rebounds (4.7 rpg) and third in points (10.4 ppg) while also averaging 1.2 steals per game.  Sims has been named the Lady Tigers most outstanding Defensive player of the past two seasons.  Sims was also played volleyball at FCHS for all four years and led the team in kills this season.  

Goodrum transferred to FCHS in fall of 2008 and thus has only played one season for the Tigers with his second Baseball season upcoming this spring.  Goodrum was named the most outstanding offensive player of the Tigers Last season.  He hit for a .427 batting average with five Home runs and 35 runs batted in.  Goodrum pitched and played shortstop for the Tigers.  Goodrum was named an Honorable Mention Perfect Game USA Preseason HS Underclassmen All American and has been invited to showcase his skills in front of scouts from several major league teams.
