Bobcats lose to Whitefield Academy, 55-12

Our Lady of Mercy’s varsity football team knew they had a tough task ahead of them when they took on Whitefield Academy last Friday.

The Wolfpack of Whitefield Academy was every bit as strong as advertised, opening up a 41-0 lead by the half on their way to a 55-12 win.
The Bobcats responded with 12 points in the second half - one on a touchdown from Jarrell Bankhead and one from Grissom, but it wasn’t enough as Whitefield added two more touchdowns of their own in the second half. Bankhead finished with 61 yards rushing.
Defensively, Grissom and Kearns led the team with eight solo tackles, while Amir Mustafa lhad seven and Daniel Wesley and Bankhead each added five.
