Newnan beats LaGrange 26-15 in kickoff of football season

The Newnan Cougars started the 2009 regular season where they left off the 2008 regular season, winning.

LaGrange had an early 6-0 lead but the Cougars scored two first half touchdowns to take a 13-6 lead at the half. LaGrange scored again early in the third quarter but a blocked extra point kept Newnan ahead. Newnan extended their lead with a touchdown catch from Alexander Ogletree. Following another LaGrange field goal, Newnan capped their scoring with a touchdown from a quarterback run from Lendell Arnold.
