11/12 Brooks Blue Majors make state tournament

The Brooks Blue Majors team won the 11/12 year old Little League District 4 championship on Friday July 3 by and 8-6 score over the Peachtree City White Majors.

Caleb Shadle pitched four solid innings in relief to earn the win and also doubled in two runs.  Cody Simmons had three hits, while Jay Ashley and Shawn Bartlett each homered for Brooks.   
Brooks Blue Majors had defeated West Point 6-1 in the semi-finals the night before.

Brooks will go on to the Little League state baseball tourney to be played in Toccoa, Ga. the week of July 25 - August 1 against nine other District champions from around the state. 

The winner of the state tournament will then represent Georgia in the Little League Southeastern Regional tournament to be played in West Va. the week of August 7 – 14 against teams from eight other southeastern states, with the winner of that Regional tournament qualifying for the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa in late August.
