SCAT sets records at meet in Tallahassee
Southern Crescent Aquatic Team traveled just south of the state line to compete in the Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club (ATAC) Invitational. This was SCAT’s largest meet of the season, with teams competing from all over the southeastern states, including the local FSU swimmers.
SCAT had five new individual team records set at the ATAC meet. Missy Beall swam to a new record in the Girls’ 13-14 100 Backstroke. Nicholas Palmer set a whopping four team records in the Mens’ 9-10 age group. The team also had two relay records broken. The 11-12 Girls’ 200 Free Relay record is now held by Erin Egoroff, Claren Anderson, Johanna Goldblatt and Whitney Carroll. And the Boys’ 11-12 relay record for the 200 Free belongs to Justin Moore, Nick Wukovits, Austin Palmer and John Michael Hall.
There were several SCAT swimmers who placed first in their events during the three day meet. Ari Berg took first place in five events. She also went on to receive the High Point Award for the 15-16 Female age group. In the male counterpart to the 15-16, Alex Menke placed first in four events and was also the High Point Winner. Other first places finishes went to Nicholas Palmer in the 10-under 100 Freestyle and Justin Moore in the 11-12 50 & 100 Meter Backstroke. Our boys relay team (Moore, Wukovits, Palmer & Hall) also won the team record setting 200 Meter Free Relay, with a dramatic come from behind race to out touch the home team.
SCAT will next head to some metro area meets for the last chance for swimmers to get their state qualifying times.
