Region foe Northgate evened the best of three AAAA championship series this afternoon with a 10-3 victory over Starr's Mill, The Citizen's Michael Boylan reports.

The tiebreaking game will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Northgate.

In game two, Panther pitchers walked nine batters while the defense committed three errors. Myles Jaye, Michael Jeanne and Drew Johnson knocked in the three Starr's Mill runs.

In game one, the Panthers won a see-saw nailbiter 3-2 fueled by a complete game from Drew Johnson. The game-winning hit came from Myles Jaye who laced a shot up the middle that glanced off the pitcher's leg and past the shortstop into centerfield.

Starr's Mill then set Northgate down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the seventh.

The Panthers scored first in the fourth on an RBI hit from Kevin Koziol but Northgate scratched out a run in the bottom of the frame for a 1-1 tie.

The scoring continued in the fifth on a solo shot for the Panthers from Jesse Baker, but Northgate again matched the score in the bottom of the fifth to keep the tie.
