Strong performances for local boys teams at state track meet

The boys state track meet was held last week and local schools and athletes performed well.

Class A
Our Lady of Mercy placesd third overall and Landmark Christian School placed sixth.

McIntosh took third overall, while Whitewater placed 16th, Starr’s Mill took 18th and Sandy Creek placed 20th.
McIntosh was led by two individual state titles from Davis Fraker in the shot put and the discus and a state title from Vince Brown in the 800 meter run.

Fraker’s throw in the discus topped a state record from 1977 and Brown’s run was also the best in all classifications.
