McIntosh and OLM boys win individual state titles on first day of state track meet

McIntosh’s Davis Fraker broke the record in the discus at the GHSA state track meet on Thursday.

His throw of 181’1” beat the old record of 179’7. Fraker also won a state title in the shot put with a throw of 61’5.75”

Vince Brown of McIntosh finished as a state runner-up in the 1,600 meter run with a time of 4:27.300 just behind AJ Meyer’s first place finish (4:27.210). The Chiefs are in currently in first place with 33 points.

Jake and Matt Lethbridge of Our Lady of Mercy took first and second in the Class A 1,600 meter run with times of 4:23.54 and 4:25.52 respectively. After the first day, Our Lady of Mercy is in second place behind Athens Christian.
