Baseball teams play a few games over the break
Sandy Creek (11-4) bounced back from two consecutive region losses to defeat Fayette County 12-2 in five innings on Monday.
The Patriots had a 5-0 lead over Alexander last Friday and lost 6-5 in eight innings. Alex Green had two hits, including a three run home run in the loss.

On Saturday, the Patriots were blanked by the Starr’s Mill Panthers 11-0 in five innings. Starr’s Mill threw a one hitter against Sandy Creek and blew up a 1-0 pitcher’s duel in the fifth inning with 10 runs off of Aaron Warren and Christian Gaston.
Green also hit a two run home run on Monday in the win over Fayette County.
Sandy Creek will play a doubleheader against Woodstock at Middle Georgia College today and will host Whitewater on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
Starr’s Mill (9-2) followed their win over Sandy Creek with a 9-5 win over McIntosh and opened a tournament in South Carolina on Monday with a 15-5 win over Hanahan, S.C. in six innings.
The Panthers will return to region action with a game at Northgate next Monday at 5 p.m.
McIntosh (7-7) fell to Northgate 3-1 last Friday. The Chiefs were scheduled to take on the Vikings on the road yesterday. They will come back from spring break and play Villa Rica on the road next Wednesday.
Fayette County (6-8) defeated Villa Rica 2-0 last Thursday and lost to Whitewater 7-6 in eight innings last Friday. They will play at Alexander next Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
Whitewater (9-2) will take on Sandy Creek on the road on Monday.
In Class A, Landmark Christian (11-3-1) defeated North Cobb Christian 5-1 on Friday. They will host Walker next Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
Our Lady of Mercy (4-11) lost to Mt. Paran 5-1 last Friday and North Cobb Christian 11-0 on Saturday.
