Region wins for Sandy Creek and McIntosh baseball, Panthers fall to Northgate

Sandy Creek (6-1) has won three games in a row.

On Wednesday, the Patriots beat Villa Rica 15-4 in five innings. Hunter Parrott got the win and struck out nine batters, while Andrew Toles went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Russell Bonner went 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Alex Green also hit a two run home run in the win.

On Thursday, the Patriots beat Whitewater 9-4. Aaron Warren got the win, while Cody Sweeney pitched the seventh inning to close it out. T.J . Treat had three hits and a sacrifice bunt to lead the offense, while Arthur Owens, Toles, Green and Bonner each had two hits. Green had three RBIs in the win, while Braxton Lane had two RBIs.

Sandy Creek will play at Landmark Christian today at noon and will play at Northgate on Monday at 5:30 p.m.

Starr’s Mill (5-1) got their first loss of the season on Thursday with a 5-2 loss at the hands of Northgate. The Panthers had defeated Alexander 10-0 in five innings the night before. Michael Jeans got the win against Alexander and Danny Beadling went 3-for-4 at the plate, while Ken Jackson added two hits/ Starr’s Mill played at Fayette County last night and will play at Banneker next Wednesday.

McIntosh’s varsity baseball team (4-3) improved to 2-2 in the region with a 12-0 win over Mays in five innings on Wednesday.
The Chiefs were scheduled to take on Whitewater last night and will play at Cherokee today at 1 p.m. and home against Fayette County on Monday at 5:30 p.m.

Landmark (6-2-1)has won two in a row, topping Mt. Paran 10-1 last Friday and beat Walker 4-2 in eight innings on Wednesday. The War Eagles will host Holy Innocents on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Our Lady of Mercy lost to Holy Innocents 12-1 on Wednesday in five innings and then lost to Whitefield Academy 9-4 on Thursday. The Bobcats will host Paideia on Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Fayette County (5-2) defeated Douglas County 7-5 on Wednesday.
