Starr's Mill boys tennis gets two wins, girls 1-1

Starr’s Mill’s boys and girls tennis teams faced Chapel Hill on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

The boys won 4-1. Winners for the boys were Alexander Ford (6-1, 6-4), Ignacio Donnett (6-0, 6-2), Johnathon Lee (6-3, 6-1) and the doubles team of Ian Lennox and Adam Springstroh (6-1, 6-1).

The Lady Panthers lost 3-2. Winners for the girls were Erin Maguire (6-1, 6-0) and the doubles team of Rachel Skaggs and Kimmie Miller.

The following day, the boys defeated Newnan 4-1. Winners were Jordan Bailey (6-1, 6-0), Danny Callahan (6-2, 6-2), and the doubles teams of Calvin Graves and Brendan Shull (6-3, 6-0) and Jonathan Hazelton and Evan Thorsen (6-0, 6-4).

The girls also won 4-1 with Carly Thanner (6-0, 6-1), Maguire (6-2, 6-3) and the doubles teams of Alden Treadway and Miller (6-1, 6-0) and Kelly Lange and Katie Port (6-1, 6-2) winning their matches.
