Three more Fayette teams qualify for state basketball tournament

The boys basketball teams at Fayette County, Sandy Creek and McIntosh are assured of a spot in the Class AAAA state playoffs after getting wins on Thursday night in the region 5-AAAA tournament at Lithia Springs High School.

Fayette County took on Mays and won 64-62. They will meet McIntosh, which defeated Banneker 51-46, at 5:30 p.m. tonight.

Sandy Creek handed Villa Rica a 67-62 loss. They will meet Lithia Springs at 8:30 tonight.

The winners of tonight’s games will face off for the region title on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
