McIntosh Boys Swim Team finishes 5th in State and Girls finish 20th
A successful swim season comes to a close as the McIntosh boys State swim team comprised of: (Alex Harmon, Adam Otaki, Jim Roddenbery, Jack Beall, Marcus Burk, Andy Lucak, Chase Simmons, Lukas Love, David Liow, Ethan Williams, Theo Lefebvre, Shane Luckey, Evan Novelly) placed 5th in the state. While the girls State swim team comprised of : (Ari Berg, Ariane Leblond, Anna Beard, Sarah Trapaga, Allison Gair, Erika Barrett, Kaitlin Rassett, Cailin O'Brien, Cara Ludwick, Sarah Manley, Taylor Day, Sadie Mason) placed 20th. The team set three new school records and had three individual All Americans (Ari Berg, Alex Harmon, and Adam Otaki) while the boys 200 yd Medley relay team posted an All American time. Ari Berg started off McIntosh’s strong showing by finishing 7th in the 200 IM and 4th in the 100 yd Breast. Ari’s time in the Breast of 1:05.6 is a new school record and earned her All American Honors. The boys 200 yd Medley Relay and 400 yd Free Relay of (Jack Beall, Jim Rodenberry, Adam Otaki and Alex Harmon) placed third in both events. The Medley time of 1.37.7 set a new school record and earned the team All American Honors. Adam Otaki placed 3rd in the 100 yd Breast and he set new school records and earned All American Honors in both the 100 yd Breast and 100 yd Fly. Jack Beall finished 8th in both the 100 yd Back and 50 yd Free. Alex Harmon finished 5th in the 200 yd free. Alex Harmon posted the best time of his career, finishing third, while swimming beside Will Freeman who shattered the state record. Freeman’s time of 4:19.3 was less then one second behind the national prep record set by the incomparable Michael Phelps. Harmon’s time of 4:38.7 earned him All American honors. Let’s give it up for McIntosh Senior captains Allison Gair and Alex Harmon who leave behind a strong team to carry on the successful tradition of McIntosh swimming.
