Booth wrestlers win county championship

The J.C. Booth Warriors wrestling team overcame a determined Whitewater Wildcats squad to win their thrilling match by a single point, and it was enough to carry them to a 5-0 sweep of all other schools and the 2009 FCMSAL Championship on Saturday Jan. 31.

J.C. Booth went into the tournament with an undefeated record and continued the sweep at the championship. The Warriors beat Rising Starr Middle School 81-12, Fayette County Middle School 94-0, Bennett’s Mill Middle School 87-6, Whitewater High School 43-42 and Flat Rock Middle School 53-24. 

The county championship capped a perfect 17-0 season for the Wrestling Warriors, and this collection of wrestlers will long be remembered as one of the most successful wrestling teams in J.C. Booth history.
