McIntosh's Hort qualifies for national cross country championship
The 34th annual South Region Foot Locker Cross Country Championship race took place last Saturday in Charlotte, N.C. Over 2,000 cross country runners competed from the South Region totaling 14 states this year that had entered.
Brad Hort from McIntosh High School placed sixth overall with a time of 14:59, a personal record. The top 10 from this race are distinguished as the top cross country runners from 80 high school’s cross country programs in the nation. These finalists will go to the nationals in San Diego, Calif. in a few weeks and compete for the National Cross Country title.
This is an incredible season for Hort. He was an individual state champion again and the McIntosh cross country team won the Class AAAAA state title. Hort was also selected to run for Team Georgia and took first place. What a way to wrap up a senior cross country season.
