Mercy’s Malasarte ’10 to run in NCAA Championships

Megan Malasarte, a 2010 Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School graduate, will compete in the 800 Meter event at the NCAA Track & Field Championships in June.

Malasarte, once a track and cross-country phenom at Our Lady of Mercy, is now a sophomore at the University of Georgia. She qualified for the national meet with a time of 2:05.78 at the NCAA East Prelims in Jacksonville, Fla. last week.

At the SEC Championships earlier this month, Malasarte clocked her personal best while breaking a UGA record in the 800 Meters at 2:04.3. The NCAA Championships will be held in Des Moines, Iowa, from June 6-9.
