Two locals win state titles at GHSA track meet, others do well

Dozens of local athletes competed at the GHSA Boys State Track and Field Championships in Jefferson, Ga. last week. A number of those athletes won individual state titles or placed highly.

State champs were:
Class A
200 meter dash - Jordan Sartor, Our Lady of Mercy, 1st, 21.65
Class AAA
100 meter dash - DeVon Lewis, Sandy Creek, 1st, 10.79

Others who performed well were:

Discus - Reed McGuire, Landmark, 3rd, 137’10”

Shot put - Chauncey Laboo, Our Lady of Mercy, 14th, 42’5”

400 meter dash - Delfayeo Matthews, Our Lady of Mercy, 3rd, 50.90

100 meter dash - Jordan Sartor, Our Lady of Mercy, 3rd, 10.85

110 meter hurdles - Darius Smith, Landmark, 5th, 15.59

300 meter hurdles - Darius Smith, Landmark, 6th, 42.17

Discus - Zachary Booker, Sandy Creek, 13th, 131’1”; Jared Johnson, Sandy Creek, 15th, 126’8”

Shot put - Jared Johnson, Sandy Creek, 3rd, 51’10.25”

800 meter run - Jamie Bigby, Sandy Creek, 8th, 2:00.52

300 meter hurdles - Solomon Bolds, Sandy Creek, 7th, 40.18

1,600 meter run - Brad Hort, McIntosh, 4th, 4:21.08

100 meter dash - Alex Phillips, Fayette County, 2nd, 10.66

110 meter hurdles - Sean Daigre, Fayette County, 14th, 15.58

800 meter run - Taylor Huntley, McIntosh, 7th, 1:58.11

200 meter dash - Alex Phillips, Fayette County, 6th, 21.88
