Former Pioneers make mark at Penn Relays
The Auburn men’s 4x100 meter relay team, featuring Sandy Creek graduate and former Southside Pioneer Michael DeHaven, took first place in the Penn Relays last weekend with a time of 39.34. The time is the fifth-fastest in Auburn history and also ranks in the top 10 in the NCAA this season.
Other Pioneers who did well at the Penn Relays were:
• McIntosh graduate Vince Brown, a member of Norfolk State University’s 3rd place Sprint Medley relay team (3:22.54).
• Lovejoy graduate DJ Smith, fifth place in the high jump for Auburn (7’1”).
• Whitewater graduate Chazwyn Price, a member of Savannah State University’s seventh place 4x200 meter relay team (1:25.01).
