By Michael Boylan - Posted on 03 May 2012

Rock’s Ride & Run is an exciting event planned to start a new ministry for the Real Life Center called Rock’s HOPE. The event will be held on June 23 at 8 a.m. at Brooks Elementary and will include a 5K and Duathlon (5K-20 mile bike ride-5K). Rock’s HOPE will be a specific fund designed to assist individuals and families experiencing financial hardship associated with cancer expenses.

This fund will allow the Real Life Center the opportunity to provide hope to families in financial crisis, in and around our community. The Real Life Center exists to help those facing life’s unanticipated challenges by offering hope, guidance and encouragement.

Spearheading this event, Ted “Rock” Knapp, has walked this journey personally, and is currently battling two forms of terminal cancer. Rock’s personal goal is to provide HOPE and financial peace to those experiencing financial hardship.
Visit www.active.com/running/brooks-ga/rocks-ride-and-run-2012 to register. If you are not able to attend, but would like to contribute to Rock’s Hope, you may do so via. the Real Life Center website, under “Donate”. After clicking on Donate, scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Donation,” and simply follow the steps.

The fees are $35 for the 5K run and $100 per team (or individual) for the Duathlon.

The goal is to raise $50,000 by June 23. For more information on this event or Sponsorship, please contact Rock Knapp at 229.364-3095 or Kathy Gloer at 404-732-4264.
