Landmark's Mead to play volleyball for Georgia Tech
Landmark Christian School senior volleyball standout Monique Mead has signed a full athletic scholarship to attend Georgia Tech.
Mead, daughter of Al and Rochelle Mead, has participated as a starter on the top ten ranked Landmark volleyball team all four years of high school. She is also an outstanding student (4.0 GPA) and is involved in many church and community activities.
Mead will graduate from Landmark in December 2008 and begin her career at Georgia Tech in January. She holds many state volleyball season and career records. Some of her career highlights include: 1,380 career kills; 1,030 career digs; 270 blks; and 293 aces. GA state Record in Kills/gm in 2008 at 5.7; Total kills in 2008 at 616; 2007 and 2008 Area 3 AA/A Player of the Year; three year selection to the All-State Team (top 24 players in the State), All-Area Team and All-Tournament Team; 2008 Senior All-Star Team; 2007 and 2008 Team MVP; 2-Time National Champion (only female volleyball player in GA) in JO Volleyball; 2007 JO Individual National MVP; Ranked #38 in Nation in “Senior Ace” list and “Top 50 Recruits” for Class of 2009 by Prep Volleyball.
