Whitewater wrestlers place third in AAAA state duals

The Whitewater Wildcats took 3rd place in the State Duals Championships in Macon, Ga. last weekend. The #4 seeded Wildcats were perfect on Friday winning 59-15 over Northside Warner-Robins and then winning the quarter finals match against Cass in a nail biter, 28-26.

Saturday, the Wildcats took on the #1 seed Pope in the semifinals, but fell short 14-47. The Wildcats finished strong with a win over Clarke Central 42-27 and took 3rd place over the #3 seed Loganville 39-29.2012 Wrestling State Duals Championship 030.jpg

All Wildcats contributed to the 3rd place finish, but individual standouts were Andrew Parsons (120) and Austin Penland (132) who were undefeated through the duals. Max Sultan (145) went 4-1. Andrew Mitchell (103) and Dylan Davis (195) finished the tournament with a 3-1 mark.

The Wildcats invite Lamar County, Lithia Springs, Woodward Academy for a Quad dual at Whitewater High School Wednesday night, January 18th at 5 p.m..
