By Michael Boylan - Posted on 01 September 2010

Starr’s Mill scored 34 points before the half in their win over Coosa last Friday and added seven more in the third quarter to cruise to a 41-0 victory.

Zach Laskey rushed for 97 yards on 14 carries for three touchdowns, while Adam Holley and Gunnar Carson each ran for one. Holley was 8 of 11 passing for 125 yards and a touchdown. That TD pass went to Matt Hubbard ( 3 catches for 32 yards). Free safety Eric Armagost led the Panthers in tackles with eight, while coach Chad Phillips stated that the entire defensive front played well as a group. He added that linebacker Davis Aasen had an outstanding first game.

Starr’s Mill got a bit of a scare as receiver and Georgia Tech signee went down with an injury. He is questionable for this Friday but will definitely return by Monday.

The Panthers (1-0) will play at Woodland, Henry (1-0) on Friday. The Wolfpack, coached by former McIntosh assistant Scott Schmitt, defeated Fayette County 34-18 last Friday.
