FCHS football team visits Falcons training camp
Last season Fayette County High School’s football team won Michelin’s ABetterPlay.com “Play of the Season,” and as part of their grand prize the Tigers had the opportunity to be VIPs at Falcons Training Camp over the weekend.
Fayette County High School players who attended Falcons Training Camp on Saturday in Flowery Branch, Ga., had the opportunity to get up close to the Falcons and watch and learn from some of the best players in the country. Following the team’s practice, Falcon greats such as Michael Turner came to greet the team and other VIP guests. At this time, players and coaches had the chance to take photos and get autographs from the players.
Having won the “Play of the Week” Award six times throughout the season and the coveted “Play of the Season” award, Fayette County’s football team earned $3,850 last fall to support their school and athletic program.
“We are proud and appreciative to have won this award,” said Fayette County High School Athletic Director Allen Leonard. “In this economic climate, we are grateful to sponsors of this program for helping us provide dedicated resources to promote our players and our program. The ABetterPlay.com program has been a boom to our school and a source of school pride.”
“Being able to positively contribute to communities where they live and work is important to all of Michelin Independent Dealers in the greater Atlanta area, and they have truly enjoyed being able to support their local high schools this fall with the ABetterPlay.com high school football program,” said Kimbrelly Kegler, Partnership Marketing Manager with Michelin North America.
Local Michelin Independent Dealers awarded more than $5,500 to schools in the greater Atlanta area over the course of last season. Along with Hoffman Tire and Alignment of Fayetteville, Ga., which was aligned with Fayette County High School throughout the program, other dealers who made ABetterPlay.com possible included Big 10 Tires of Peachtree City among dozens of others.
