One of the many banners lining The Battlefield in Tyrone read like a checklist with county champs and sub-region champs checked off. Next to region champs, the box was empty but read "consider it done."

In the final week of the regular season, a week before teams from the two sub-regions meet, the games were not close.

Region wins carry a little more weight than wins outside the region and two teams, McIntosh and Whitewater, picked up their first region wins of the season, while Sandy Creek cemented their hold on the top of the sub-region standings.

East Coweta Indians (5-2, 4-2 region) at Morrow Mustangs (0-7, 0-6 region)

Though Fayette County took the early 7-0 lead, it was the Sandy Creek Patriots who would emerge victorious on their sloppy home turf tonight.
Or what was left of the field. A driving rain created a mucky mess and players were caked in grass-covered mud, soaked to the core.

It seems like ever week features a big local rivalry, but none are bigger right now than the annual game between Whitewater and Starr's Mill. Last Friday's contest was another classic in the series.
