Ranked volleyball teams seek wins to cement rankings

Local schools are all over the recent rankings in the latest PrepCounty.com GACA Coaches poll for volleyball.

Schedule change for Fayette County and Sandy Creek football game in Oct.

Due to the Fayette County Schools Furlough day on Oct. 16, Fayette County high school has had to make some adjustments to their football schedules. Please make note of these.

The varsity football game scheduled for Oct. 16 at Sandy Creek has been changed to Oct. 15. Kickoff will still be at 7:30 p.m. and the site will still be Sandy Creek.

Local teams do well at Whitewater meet, Chiefs win at Carrollton

Whitewater and Sandy Creek pick up region wins

It seems like every week a number of the area’s top softball teams square off. This week saw Fayette County take on Sandy Creek, Starr’s Mill meet up with Northgate and McIntosh and Whitewater face off.

Local schools host big volleyball tournament this weekend

Four local high school gyms will be filled with some of the top varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams in the state, as well as Alabama, this weekend at the first Fayette Sweet 16 is played.

McIntosh boys have top five finish at Bob Blastow meet, other schools run well

At the Bob Blastow Early Bird Invitational, McIntosh’s boys took fourth, while Sandy Creek placed 22nd and Fayette County took 24th.
